Still Here Daily™ Is Growing
A note for the families who keep showing up—and a look at what we're building next.
Created by a family, for families.
When we created Still Here Daily™, the goal was never simply to build a website. The goal was to make staying connected a little easier for families navigating incarceration.
Still Here Daily™ is an online support tool for people on the outside. It creates personalized, ready-to-use ideas for messages, phone calls, video visits, and in-person visits—helping families spend less time searching for what to say and more time sharing everyday life with the people they love.
From conversation starters and encouragement to practical tools, current events, and shared activities, each card is designed to make the next connection feel more natural and meaningful.
What started as an idea is beginning to reach beyond our own family.
Over the past month, we've shared Still Here Daily™ with more families, connected with organizations doing meaningful work, begun preparing a virtual workshop with Project Avary, continued developing the Locked In Family Support™ Workbook, and started the work of bringing Still Here Daily™ to your phone as an app.
One conversation at a time. One resource at a time. One family at a time.
What We're Building
From Website to App
Still Here Daily™ was built around one simple question:
How can we make connection easier?
Our website was the beginning. Now we're working through what it takes to turn Still Here Daily™ into an app families can carry with them wherever they go.
There are accounts to establish, technology to build, systems to test, and plenty we're learning along the way.
We don't have an app release date to announce yet, and we don't want to pretend we're further along than we are. But the work has started.
Website today. App in progress. Connection always.
Going Deeper
Something You Can Hold in Your Hands
Not everything we're building is digital.
We're developing the Locked In Family Support™ Workbook, a deeper project built around the experiences, lessons, and realities that come with navigating incarceration as a family.
While Still Here Daily™ focuses on everyday connection, the workbook takes a broader look at the journey through our story, real experiences, reflection, encouragement, practical activities, and meaningful writing space.
The goal is not simply to give families information. We want the workbook to help people work through what they're experiencing, recognize what they can control, strengthen connection, and begin thinking about what moving forward can look like.
We're still building it. We're reviewing the themes, strengthening the activities, refining the writing, and making sure each section has a purpose and flows naturally into the next.
We want it to be written in. Reflected on. Returned to. And used.
Still Here Daily™ supports everyday connection. The Locked In Family Support™ Workbook goes deeper—and we're continuing to build from there.
Community Connection
Bringing Still Here Daily™ to Project Avary
This month, we're preparing for an opportunity that means a lot to us.
Still Here Daily™ will be part of an upcoming virtual workshop with Project Avary, a national organization supporting children and families impacted by incarceration.
Rather than simply showing people a website, we want the workshop to be something families can actually experience. We'll explore some of the real challenges of staying connected, demonstrate ways Still Here Daily™ can help, and give families an opportunity to think about what meaningful connection looks like for them.
Because sometimes the hardest part isn't wanting to stay connected. It's knowing where to begin.
Building Relationships
Learning From Organizations Already Doing the Work
Another important part of this journey has been connecting with people and organizations who understand the realities families face.
We've been in communication with Prison Families Alliance (PFA) and are continuing conversations about how our work can complement the support that already exists. That's important to us.
We didn't create Still Here Daily™ to tell families what they should do. We created it because we've lived the moments when you stare at a message box and don't know what to say next, when a phone call matters so much that the silence feels even bigger, and when you want to keep someone connected to everyday life but aren't sure how.
The more people we meet doing this work, the more possibilities we see for support that works together instead of in isolation.
The Momentum
Spreading the Word
Some of the biggest moments this month haven't necessarily been the biggest announcements. They've been the conversations.
Someone sharing Still Here Daily™ with another family. Someone discovering us for the first time. A new organization learning what we're building. A family realizing there might be another way to make that next conversation a little easier.
Every share matters. Every conversation matters.
Every person who tells someone else, “You should check this out,” helps this community grow. And we're incredibly grateful for that.
Growing With You
Connection in More Than One Form
We're continuing to improve the daily experience, listen to feedback, and think carefully about what families actually need.
That includes the communication options introduced last month: Message, Phone Call, Video Visit, and In Person.
But we're also thinking beyond individual features. We're asking bigger questions about how Still Here Daily™ can support families throughout this entire experience, not only when they need something to talk about.
Those ideas will take time. We're okay with that.
We'd rather build thoughtfully than build quickly.
What's Ahead
Another Door Is Opening
September feels less like a finish line and more like another door opening.
We're working toward the Still Here Daily™ app. We're developing the Locked In Family Support™ Workbook. We're preparing for our Project Avary workshop. We're continuing conversations and building relationships with organizations like PFA. We're introducing Still Here Daily™ to more families. And we're continuing to build toward the larger vision behind Locked In Family Support™.
There is still a lot of work ahead. But when we look at where this started and where it is today, we're reminded that meaningful things don't have to happen all at once.
Sometimes they happen one conversation, one connection, one page, and one small step at a time.
